E-100 with Rheintochter missile, Germany, 1946, 1:72, Modelcollect
The Rheintochter was a German SAM (Surface to Air Missile, surface-to-air, anti-aircraft missile) German missile developed during World War II. Its name comes from the mythical Rheintöchter of the opera Der Ring des Nibelungen by Richard Wagner. The Rheintochter was ordered in November 1942 by the Army of the Third Reich. The test shots began in August 1943 and 82 shots were made. A version launched from aerial platforms was also developed, that is, an AAM missile (Air to Air Missile, air-to-air missile). The project was canceled on February 6, 1945. A copy of the missile is on display at the German Technology Museum, located in Munich. Source: Wikipedia
