The HH-60G Pave Hawk is a combat rescue version of the UH-60 Black Hawk developed in the 1980s to replace older helicopters of the United States Air Force. It was adapted with special systems such as in-flight refueling, night sensors, and rescue equipment.
It entered service in the late 1980s and took part in conflicts such as the Gulf War, the Balkans, and especially Afghanistan and Iraq, where it was heavily used for medical evacuations, pilot recovery, and support of special operations forces.
It operates alongside HC-130 aircraft and pararescue teams, forming a system capable of recovering personnel in almost any situation.
After more than 30 years of service, it began to be replaced from 2020 by the HH-60W, leaving an important legacy as one of the most effective and widely used rescue helicopters.
