Helicopter Aerospatiale SA321 Super Frelon, France, 1:72, Planeta DeAgostini
The Aérospatiale SA321 Super Frelon was one of the most important heavy helicopters developed in Europe during the Cold War. Designed by Sud Aviation, later incorporated into Aérospatiale, it first flew in 1962 and became the largest and most powerful helicopter built in Western Europe at the time. Powered by three Turbomeca Turmo turboshaft engines, the Super Frelon was designed for heavy transport, anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue and naval operations. The French Armed Forces operated the type extensively from both land bases and ships of the Marine Nationale. Its large payload capacity, long range and operational reliability allowed it to remain in service for several decades and to be exported to several countries. The SA321 Super Frelon remains one of the most recognizable helicopters of the French aerospace industry and one of the most distinctive rotary-wing aircraft of the twentieth century.
