German Beutepanzer M4A2 75, 1:72, Dragon Armor
During the Second World War, the German Army made extensive use of captured armored vehicles, known as Beutepanzer ("captured tanks"). Among them were a number of American-built M4 Sherman tanks originally supplied to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program. Several of these vehicles were captured intact on the Eastern Front, repaired, repainted with German markings and returned to combat service. The M4A2's excellent combination of firepower, mobility and reliability made it one of the most highly regarded captured Allied tanks operated by German crews.
This model depicts a Beutepanzer M4A2 armed with the 75 mm gun, operated by the 14th Panzer Division on the Eastern Front in 1944. The vehicle retains its original Sherman configuration while displaying Wehrmacht tactical markings and Balkenkreuz insignia, illustrating Germany's pragmatic practice of employing captured enemy equipment whenever battlefield conditions required it. Captured Shermans served only in limited numbers, making this one of the rarest and most unusual variants of the famous M4 family used during World War II
