The Chengdu J-10, known as the “Vigorous Dragon” or Menglong, is a single-engine multirole fighter developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation for China's People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). Its distinctive aerodynamic configuration combines a delta wing with forward canards, providing excellent manoeuvrability and aerodynamic performance.
The J-10C represents one of the most advanced developments of the J-10 family. It incorporates significant improvements in avionics, sensors and combat capabilities compared with earlier variants. Notable features include an AESA radar and compatibility with modern air-to-air weapons such as the PL-10 and PL-15, together with a range of air-to-surface weapons. Hobby Master lists a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 and a combat range of approximately 1,240 km.
This miniature represents PLAAF J-10C number 74825 in 2025. The J-10C has become an important component of China's modern combat aviation capabilities, combining beyond-visual-range engagement capability, high manoeuvrability and the ability to perform precision air-to-ground missions.
