Dassault Mirage III / IAI Nesher 561, 113 sqn., Hatzor AFB, 1975, 1:72, Hobby Master

The IAI Nesher was an Israeli-built fighter closely related to the French Dassault Mirage 5. It was developed after an arms embargo prevented the delivery to Israel of the Mirage 5J aircraft previously ordered from France. Israel Aircraft Industries subsequently began producing the Nesher, which entered Israeli Air Force service in the early 1970s. Aircraft 561 had a particularly distinguished combat career. During the October 1973 Yom Kippur War it was flown, among others, by celebrated Israeli ace Giora Epstein. Flying this Nesher, Epstein achieved eight of his victories credited while operating the type, including four kills on 18 October and another four on 20 October 1973. By 1975, Nesher 561 was serving with the Israeli Air Force's 113th Squadron at Hatzor Air Base.
