F-15J "204 Sqn. 60th Anniversary", JASDF, 2024, 1:72, Hobby Master

The Mitsubishi F-15J is the Japanese version of the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, selected by Japan in the late 1970s to progressively replace its F-104J Starfighters and F-4EJ Phantom IIs in the air-defence role. Manufactured primarily under licence by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the F-15J entered service with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force during the 1980s and became one of the principal aircraft responsible for protecting Japanese airspace.
The 204th Tactical Fighter Squadron was established in 1964 and was subsequently equipped with the F-15J. For decades, the unit has performed air-defence and quick-reaction alert duties, including the interception and identification of aircraft approaching Japanese airspace. Its long service reflects the strategic importance of Japan's F-15J units within the country's air-defence system.
