Fokker E.III Eindecker, Lieutenant Josef Jacobs, 1:48, Corgi
The Fokker E.III Eindecker was one of the most influential fighter aircraft of the First World War. Introduced in 1915, it featured an innovative synchronization gear that allowed its machine gun to fire safely through the propeller arc, giving German pilots a significant tactical advantage during the period known as the "Fokker Scourge." Its simple monoplane design and reliable construction made it one of the most effective fighters of its era.
This model represents the aircraft associated with Lieutenant Josef Jacobs, one of Germany's most successful fighter aces. Although Jacobs achieved most of his victories flying the famous Fokker Dr.I triplane, he was also familiar with Fokker's earlier monoplane fighters. The E.III remains an iconic aircraft that marked the beginning of Germany's early air superiority and is an essential addition to any World War I aviation collection.
