Fogel, German SS Polizei-NCO Division, 1:6, Did

Fogel, German SS Polizei-NCO Division, 1:6, Did

The SS-Polizei-Division was formed in 1939 largely from personnel of the Ordnungspolizei, Germany's uniformed police. The formation served during the Second World War and, following successive reorganisations, was eventually formally incorporated into the Waffen-SS.
Initially organised as an infantry division, it was deployed during the 1940 campaign in France and was subsequently sent to the Eastern Front, where it took part in operations following the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.
Non-commissioned officers were an essential part of small-unit military organisation. They supervised soldiers, maintained discipline and transmitted officers' orders, giving them considerable responsibility for the day-to-day operation of units in the field.
DID's Fogel represents such an NCO with an extensive selection of field equipment. His grey uniform, steel helmet, canteen, mess tin, gas mask canister, binoculars, shovel and ammunition equipment allow several configurations to be recreated.
One of the figure's most distinctive accessories is the EMP35 submachine gun, reproduced using metal and wood. A P08 pistol, bayonet and equipment associated with an anti-aircraft machine-gun position are also provided, including an all-metal tripod and spider sight.
