Leopard 2A4, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Turkish Army, Turkish-Syrian Border, 2016, 1:72, Panzerkampf

The Leopard 2A4 is one of the best-known variants of the German-developed Leopard 2 main battle tank. Armed with the Rheinmetall Rh-120 120 mm smoothbore gun and powered by a high-performance diesel engine, it combines mobility, firepower and protection. Turkey acquired more than 300 Leopard 2A4s from former Bundeswehr stocks, making the type an important component of its armoured forces.
In 2016, Turkish Leopard 2A4s were deployed along the Syrian border and subsequently took part in operations inside Syria during Operation Euphrates Shield. These engagements represented one of the Leopard 2's most significant early experiences of actual combat and highlighted the threats faced by modern main battle tanks from anti-tank guided missiles and other weapons in urban and defensive environments. This miniature represents a Turkish Army 2nd Cavalry Regiment Leopard 2A4 deployed near the Turkish-Syrian border in 2016.
