Leopard 1 A Eskadron, 41 Tankbataljon, Koninklijke Landmacht, Bergen-Hohne, 1:72, Panzerkampf

The Leopard 1 was the first main battle tank developed by West Germany after the Second World War and became one of the most successful armored vehicles of the Cold War. Designed with an emphasis on mobility and firepower rather than heavy armor, it featured the outstanding British-designed 105 mm L7A3 gun, excellent cross-country performance and exceptional mechanical reliability. These qualities led to its adoption by numerous NATO nations, including the Royal Netherlands Army, where it remained in frontline service for many years.
This model depicts a Leopard 1 of A Squadron, 41 Tank Battalion, Royal Netherlands Army (Koninklijke Landmacht), carrying registration KU-94-51 / 13D, based at Bergen-Hohne, West Germany, in 1977. During the Cold War, 41 Tank Battalion formed part of the Dutch armored forces stationed in Germany as part of NATO's forward defense strategy. The unit regularly trained at the vast Bergen-Hohne training area, one of Europe's premier armored maneuver ranges, maintaining a high level of readiness throughout the East-West confrontation.
