The Sukhoi Su-30M2 "Flanker" is a twin-seat multirole fighter developed from the Su-27UB and designed for air superiority, escort, precision strike and operational conversion missions. Powered by two Saturn AL-31F turbofan engines and equipped with the upgraded N001V radar, it is capable of employing a wide range of air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons while offering long range, excellent manoeuvrability and a substantial combat payload. Its two-seat configuration allows the pilot and weapons systems officer to share workload during complex missions, improving operational effectiveness.
This model depicts a Sukhoi Su-30M2 Flanker of the Russian Air Force in 2021, during a period when the aircraft formed part of Russia's ongoing tactical aviation modernisation programme. The Su-30M2 was primarily employed for air defence duties, operational conversion training and advanced instruction for crews transitioning to newer members of the Flanker family.
