Douglas SBD-3 "Dauntless" BuNo 3315, Black 16 of Scouting 71, VS-71 USS Wasp (CV-7), August, 1942, 1:32, Hobby Master
On August 25, 1942 the Douglas SBD-3 BuNo. 03315 Scouting 71 "Black 16" aboard the USS Wasp (CV-7) was flown by two different pilots that day. The plane shot down three Japanese planes on the 25th. During the morning flight, Lieutenant (jg) Chester V. Zalewski shot down two Aichi E13A "Jake" seaplanes. In the afternoon, Lieutenant Morris R. Doughty drove the Black 16 knocking down a Kawanishi H8K "Emily." The three Japanese flags were set for the events of that day.
