The German submarine U-552 was a submarine type VIIC built for the Kriegsmarine of Nazi Germany to fight during the Second World War. It was launched on December 1, 1939 at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg with number 528. It entered service on December 4, 1940. U-552 was nicknamed Roter Teufel (Red Devil).
