Truck launches rockets ZIS-6 / BM-13 Katioucha, USSR, 1:43, Atlas

The Katyusha multiple rockets launcher is an artillery vehicle built and deployed by the Soviet Union in World War II. Rocket launchers fire at a target faster than conventional artillery but with less accuracy and require more time to recharge. They are fragile compared to artillery guns but they are cheap, easy to produce and usable in any chassis. The Katyushas of World War II, the first self-propelled artillery produced in series by the Soviet Union, were usually mounted on normal trucks. This mobility gave the Katyusha, and other self-propelled artillery, another advantage: being able to launch a big blow at once, and then move before being located and attacked with counter-battery fire.
