The CAIC Z-10 is the first attack helicopter designed in China. Its development began in the late 1990s by the Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC), with initial collaboration from Kamov. It made its maiden flight in 2003 and joined the ranks of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Ground Force in 2012. This helicopter is armed with anti-tank missiles, rockets, and a cannon, and has modernized versions such as the Z-10K and Z-10ME, which are intended for export. Today, it is the PLA's primary attack platform and is considered a Chinese competitor to models such as the AH-64 Apache and the Eurocopter Tiger.
