Mirage llICJ, n° 70, 117 "First Jet" Squadron, Ramat David Air Base, lsrael, June 1967, 1:72, Panzerkampf
The 70th Mirage IIICJ was a prominent aircraft of the Israeli Air Force's 117 "First Jet" Squadron, based at Ramat David Air Base. This squadron, the first to operate jet aircraft in Israel, played a crucial role during the Six-Day War in 1967. The Mirage IIICJ, known as "Shahak" (lightning from the sky), was used in air defense and ground attack missions, being noted for its speed and maneuverability. The 70th saw active combat, including the destruction of enemy aircraft and the protection of Israeli airspace. After the war, the Mirage IIICJ continued to be a key part of Israel's air defense until its replacement by more modern aircraft in the following decades.
