McDonnell-Douglas EF-18A (F/A-18A) Hornet, Tiger Meet, Ala 15, Spanish Air Force, Zaragoza Air Base, 1:72, Herpa
The EF-18 Hornet has been one of the Spanish Air Force's principal combat aircraft since the mid-1980s. Ala 15 was officially established on 16 December 1985, and its first four EF-18s arrived at Zaragoza Air Base on 10 July 1986. The introduction of the Hornet represented a major technological advance for Spanish military aviation. From 16 to 27 May 2016, Zaragoza Air Base hosted the NATO Tiger Meet, one of NATO aviation's best-known multinational exercises involving squadrons traditionally associated with the tiger symbol. For the event, EF-18A C.15-14, coded 15-01, received an elaborate tiger-themed scheme on its vertical tails and external fuel tanks.
