Willys MB Jeep, WWII, US Army, 1:18, KDW

In 1940, as the war spread across Europe, the US Army found itself in a critical situation: it needed a light, agile, and durable vehicle that could move smoothly over any type of terrain. The specifications were clear: it had to weigh less than 600 kg, have four-wheel drive, be inexpensive to manufacture, and easy to repair on the battlefield. The Bantam company was the first to present a prototype, but lacked the industrial capacity to produce it in large quantities. It was then that Willys-Overland and Ford joined the project, improving the design and adapting it for mass production. Thus was born the Willys MB, which we know today simply as the "Jeep."
