Light Cruise Königsberg, Kriegsmarine, 1929, 1: 1250, DeAgostini
The Königsberg was a German light cruiser between 1929 and April 1940, including service in World War II. It was the leading ship of its kind and was operated by two German navies, the Reichsmarine and the Kriegsmarine. It had two twin ships, Karlsruhe and Köln. Königsberg was built by Kriegsmarinewerft in Wilhelmshaven. It was armed with a main battery of nine 15 cm SK C / 25 guns in three triple turrets and had a maximum speed of 32 knots (59 km / h; 37 mph). It served as a training ship for naval cadets throughout the 1930s and joined the patrols of non-intervention during the Spanish Civil War in the late 1930s. At the outbreak of World War II he worked placing minefields defensive in the North Sea. He participated in Operation Weserübung and the invasion of Norway in April 1940. While attacking Bergen, it was damaged by the Norwegian coastal artillery being sunk by British bombers the next day in the harbor.
