Auxiliary Cruise Atlantis, Kriegsmarine, 1940, 1: 1250, DeAgostini
The Atlantis was an auxiliary cruiser fruit of the transformation of the Goldenfels motor ship. He was placed under the command of the frigate captain (after ship) Bernhard Rogge, decorated with the Cross of Knight of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. It sailed on March 30, 1940 and was sunk in the South Atlantic on November 22, 1941 by heavy cruiser HMS Devonshire while transferring fuel to submarine U-126. In the 603 days of navigation (absolute record not yet beaten) it sank or captured 22 allied merchant ships, with a total tonnage of 150,750 gross registered tons.
